Hawthorn Suites

On Christmas Morning, a 2-alarm fire broke out at the Hawthorn Suites in Fogelsville. Cascade 3292 was dispatched to fill air cylinders, and shortly after 3212 was dispatched for manpower. Station 32 crews were on scene for about 90 minutes. 3292 filled 7 air cylinders. The fire has been ruled accidental, but the cause has not yet been found.

Barn Fire

At 5:58 PM on Sunday, December 7th, Cascade 3292 was dispatched to a barn fire in Wiesenberg Township. 3292 was on scene for about 2 hours, filling 12 air cylinders.

Americus Avenue Fire

At 5:16 AM on Saturday, November 29th, Cascade 3292 was dispatched to a dwelling fire on Americus Ave, in Western Salisbury. 3292 was on scene for about 2 hours, filling 17 air cylinders.

Route 22 Car Fire

Around 7pm on Thursday, November 27th, Stations 3 and 32 were dispatched to a MVA w/Fire. Tanker 3221 was first on scene and knocked down the fire. Special Thanks to Nester Video Productions for the on-scene footage.

 

Route 22 MVA

At 12:43 pm on Saturday, November 8th, Station 32 and Cetronia Ambulance were dispatched to a MVA with injuries on Route 22. While returning to quarters, at 1:15 pm, yet another MVA occurred on the eastbound onramp to 22 from Cedar Crest Blvd. Below photos are from the first accident.

Route 22 MVA/Spill

On Thursday, October 30th, around 5pm, 2 big rigs were involved in a accident on Route 22. The accident resulted in a extremely large oil spill. Woodlawn firefighters used approximately 900lbs of spill control material. The left eastbound lane was closed for over 3 hours.

MVA/Rescue

On Tuesday, September 30th, at 5:38pm, Station 32 & Heavy Rescue 1141 were dispatched to a MVA w/Rescue at the intersections of Arch and Highland Streets. A Jeep collided with a Dodge Caravan, causing it to flip on its side and slide several feet. Allentown Engine 10 was also on-scene. It took approximately 15 minutes to extract the driver.

Wethersfield Drive Fire

On Tuesday morning, September 2nd, South Whitehall Firefighters were dispatched to an address on Wethersfield Dr. The homeowner noticed smoke coming from the roof vents. A malfunctioning recessed light in the bathroom caused a small fire in the attic area. A second alarm was called for manpower. A line was pulled off 3212 and the fire extinguished. Afterwards, the interior crew was washed down to remove insulation fibers.

Jefferson Street Fire

On the morning of Sunday, July 27th, Cascade 3292 was dispatched to a 2nd alarm dwelling fire in the city of Allentown. We were on scene for about a hour, and filled 16 air cylinders.

Attic Fire

On Sunday, July 20th, around 9pm, South Whitehall fire departments were dispatched to Penn Crest Apartments on Woodlawn St. On arrival, light smoke was found in the apartments. After gaining access to the attic area, a small fire was discovered. It was later determined that a dryer vent caused the fire.

Haz-Mat Days Inn

On Monday, June 14th, Station 32 was dispatched for a haz-mat incident at the Days Inn on Route 309. Muriatic acid and chlorine were accidentally mixed together, creating a toxic gas, which sickened one person. Photos by Rachel Brown

Gas Odor at Target

At 8pm on Monday, June 2nd, 3212 and 3291 were dispatched to the Target Store on Cedar Crest Blvd for a gas odor. On arrival, due to the size of the store, command requested Lehigh County radio to "fill out the box", bringing the remainder of station 32, along with stations 3 and 11 to the scene. The gas odor was caused by a employee who hit a natural gas line to a heater with a forklift in the dock area. The gas was shutoff, the store ventilated and searched by crews with gas meters.

I-78 Tractor Trailer MVA w/fire

Cascade 3292 was dispatched on Saturday, May 24th, at 3:12 am for a tractor trailer fire near the New Smithville exit of I-78.

2nd Alarm, Allentown City

Cascade 3292 was dispatched to a 2nd alarm fire in the city of Allentown at 11:30pm on 5/2.

Structure Fire, Upper Macungie

At 4:30pm on 4/6/08, Cascade 3292 and 3291 responded to a 3 alarm fire in Upper Macungie township. Cascade 3292 refilled air bottles, while 3291's crew served as a RIT team.

Station 32 responds to spill

At 3:30pm on 3/29/08, Woodlawn Fire Department was dispatched to a large spill at the intersections of 18th and Helen streets. A broken gallon container of chain oil was found at the scene.

South Whitehall Stations 3,11,32 respond to truck fire

Around 5pm on 3/20/08 South Whitehall fire departments were paged out for a truck fire. The contents of a dump truck had caught fire. The contents were emptied and extinguished.

South Whitehall firefighters respond to MVA on Route 22

Approximately 8am on the morning February 19th, a tractor trailer caused a chain reaction crash that involved a total of 6 vehicles. Two people were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment.

South Whitehall firefighters respond to HAZMAT incident

On February 13th, approximately at 1:30 pm, Woodlawn was dispatched to a business on Walbert Ave. Employees taking out garbage discovered a smoking trash bin. Crews donned Splash suits and discovered a fuming chemical in a bucket inside the bin.
